Welcome to the ONDM 2011 website
The 15th International Conference on Optical Networking Design and Modeling - ONDM 2011 - was held in Bologna, Italy, on February 8-10, 2011.
As it is established practice ONDM 2011 focused on cutting-edge, state-of-the-art research in optical networking and in particular on the role of optical network for the future Internet design.
ONDM 2011 was a three days event organized by the Department of Electronics, Computer Science and Systems of the University of Bologna, technically co-sponsored by the IFIP working group 6.10 and by the IEEE Communication Society with the endorsment of the TAOS, ONTC and TNG . The conference was kindly hosted by the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Bologna under the patronage of the University of Bologna, the "Guglielmo Marconi" Foundation, the Emilia-Romagna Regional Government and the Bologna City Council.

Two workshops were co-located with ONDM 2011, the workshop "Building the Future Optical Network in Europe: Key final outcomes of the EU BONE project" on Monday afternoon, just after the closing plenary meeting of the BONE project and the workshop "Control plane evolution in metro and core networks" on Wednesday afternoon.
Authors from 36 countries submitted their work to ONDM 2011 and the authors of the accepted papers belongs to 27 nations from Europe, the Americas, Africa, the Middle and Far East. Overall 55 research intitutes and 22 countires were represented at the conference by the 109 delegates that registered and attended the event.
